Governor's Wellmobile Program
The Governor’s Wellmobile program, operated by the University of Maryland School of Nursing, delivers primary and preventive health care to underserved patients in Maryland. Staffed by nurse practitioners, a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) outreach worker, and a driver, the Wellmobile serves areas with limited or no access to health care.

Mini-Med School
Offered as a public service by the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Mini-Med School is a series of tuition-free classes designed to help Baltimore residents improve their health and well-being. Mini-Med School lectures are presented by faculty physicians in medical school classrooms, but you don't need a background in science to attend.

International Brain Bee
The International Brain Bee (IBB) is a neuroscience competition for high school students. Founded Dr. Norbert Myslinski at the University of Maryland in 1998, the IBB has grown to more than 160 chapters in more than 40 countries and six continents. Its purpose is to motivate young men and women to learn about the human brain and to inspire them to enter careers in the basic and clinical brain sciences.

School of Social Work Community Outreach Service
The School of Social Work Community Outreach (SWCOS) is planning to establish interprofessional, community-driven research initiatives that address critical social issues identified by community partners bordering the UM campus and beyond. Our research will assist organizations make decisions, clarify issues, assist with policy, and improve practice.

Clinical Law Program
Each year, 25 faculty lead 150 students in providing almost 75,000 hours of free legal services to the community, making the Clinical Law Program one of the region's largest public interest law firms. The Clinical Law Program provides legal services to individuals, families, and communities throughout Maryland in a variety of ways, including working with the professional schools (medical, pharmacy, and social work) on interdisciplinary approaches that serve clients holistically.
