Training

Online Training Banner

EHS offers training online and in-person to employees, students, and visitors who will be working in campus laboratories. These training modules are intended as a general overview of the topic, and hands-on, job-specific training is to be provided by your direct supervisor.

Note that NEW employees, students, and visitors are asked to attend in-person laboratory safety training. Future refresher training may be completed online after the first in-person class.

EHS Compliance Training has moved to SciShield

Online lab safety courses are now offered through the SciShield platform, with access to all lab personnel, easier reporting for lab managers and department administrators, and connections to the actual hazards you work with.

Why Training Is Required

What training is required?

Determining which training courses are required, recommended, or optional for your job duties can be complicated, as well as knowing how frequently you should refresh these modules. See this page for more information on requirements.

Other safety, but not necessarily lab-related, training courses are offered through the Emergency Management Department.
