Funding
Providing voucher support or pilot grants to researchers to help access resources to generate pilot and preliminary data is a vital component of UMB’s mission to remove barriers to clinical translational research that will improve the health of our Baltimore community, Maryland, and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Please Note! If you are seeking biostatistics, community collaboration/engagement consultation, dissemination/implementation expertise, drug discovery/development expertise, informatics (clinical data, REDCap services), or a studio, please visit our Investigator Resources page https://www.umaryland.edu/ictr/investigator-resources/.

Other NIH CTSA Funding Opportunities
▾
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and Johns Hopkins University (JHU) forge a powerful alliance with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). As a CTSA Program hub (UL1TR003098-01), UMB now has additional NIH U01 and R21 funding opportunities that would not otherwise be available.
- CCIA U01 Collaborative Innovation Award support investigators from three or more CTSA Program hub institutions
- R21 Exploratory/Developmental Innovation Awards support investigators from two or more CTSA Program hub institutions to either:
1) form new collaborations, or to
2) significantly expand the scientific scope of existing collaborations, or to
3) engage new collaborators in pre-existing collaborations to solve a translational science problem no one hub can solve alone, or disseminate a solution to a translational science problem developed at one hub to other hubs, in so doing testing its robustness to different hub environments and structures and adapting it for further dissemination within outside the CTSA Program consortium if appropriate.

Application Deadline: Sunday, October 13, 2024
Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical & Translational Research Community and Collaboration Core Pilot Grants are designed to establish and develop community-engaged research (CEnR) partnerships. The Partnership Development Grant provides up to $10,000 to support partnership building activities for new collaborations between faculty from three academic institutions (Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland at Baltimore, and Morgan State University) and a community partner (a community- or faith-based organization or public agency) from the Greater Baltimore area. While Partnership Development Grants may include some formative research activities, the grant intends to support activities that set the stage for future CEnR endeavors.
Applications are due by 11:59 pm, Sunday, October 13, 2024.
We are hosting an information session Monday, October 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm to review the current request for applications. To attend, visit https://jhjhm.zoom.us/j/95150970296?pwd=a8Kj3ZNag2tMlqljVTFIbUOC7R5Sv7.1
