Facilities Work Request

Purpose

Report facilities issue for repair or submit service request.

Applicability

Anyone affiliated with University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) may submit a work request as long as they have a UMB email address or other appropriate campus contact information.

Work requests can be submitted for housekeeping or maintenance issues. Housekeeping consists of the cleanliness of the building to include such items as supplies for restroom facilities. Maintenance provides building care services such as general repairs, troubleshooting, electrical, elevator, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), lighting, locks, carpentry, painting, pest control, plumbing, recycling, moving, and snow removal services.  Limited installation and renovation services are available on a billable basis dependent on staff availability.

Instructions

  1. After identifying an issue, determine if this is an appropriate service for Facilities Management.  Facilities Management can assist the campus community with a range of general and maintenance issues on campus.
  2. Submit a work request.
    1. Submit Work Request online.
      1. The requestor will be directed through a selection menu and will receive a confirmation email.
  3. If this is an emergency work request or if you need more detailed assistance that cannot be explained on the form, please contact the Operations and Maintenance Service Center directly at 410-706-7570.
  4. If there is need for additional discussion or if there has not been a confirmation from the Operations and Maintenance Service Center within one full business day, please contact the Service Center directly at 410-706-7570.
  5. Customers may file complaints or compliments by emailing fmwc@umaryland.edu.
  6. Customers may use the same form center to check the status of a work request.
