Requesting Special Event Parking

The Office of Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) coordinates parking arrangements for faculty, staff, and students on campus for University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), and non-University events.

Depending on size and event time, visitors and guests will be allowed to park on campus, as space permits, at the visitor rate.

  • Parking vouchers are date-specific to the special event and cannot be used after the event.
  • Lexington Street and Saratoga Street garages are credit-only locations. Starting April 1st, Penn and Pratt St. garages will be credit card only.

Reserved spaces for SMC Campus Center events are located on the third level of the Pratt Street Garage, located at 646 W. Pratt St.

Request Parking

Request special event parking:

  • Complete the Request for Special Event Parking form online.
  • Parking vouchers are date specific to the special event and cannot be used after the event.
  • All requests must be received by PTS at least 10 days in advance of the event. A guest list should be provided.
  • If requesting reserved parking -
    • The cost is $20 per space/per day.
    • A maximum of 34 reserved spaces, on Level 3, are available for reserved parking at Pratt Street Garage.
  • All other garages are reviewed on a case by case basis.
  • If your event requires access to the SMC Campus Center from the 3rd level of the garage, you must request a security officer from the Department of Public Safety at least two weeks before your event.

Payment

The cost of reserved spaces is $20 per day/per space (nonrefundable), which must be prepaid at the time of request. 

Prepaid options include:

  • Nonstate-issued credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover)
  • Journal entry with SOAPF or Cost Center Information — signed
