Jana Anderson is a human resources (HR) professional with more than 20 years of human resources experience.
Anderson joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) in 1998 as a YouthWorks student in the Office of Human Resource Services. Over the years, she has climbed the career ladder at UMB, serving in roles such as office clerk, HR associate II, HR specialist, HR coordinator, HR Service Center analyst, administrative analyst, and administrative manager.
In December 2022, Anderson was hired as director of human resources and payroll at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD). She manages and oversees human resources and payroll functions, including faculty recruitment, employee and labor relations, and compensation. Anderson also provides advice to senior UMSOD leadership and serves on several committees within the school and central human resources office. She also is an alumnus of the UMBrella Coaching Program (Cohort 4) and the UMB Emerging Leaders Program.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Anderson graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a Master of Business Administration degree. Anderson loves spending time with her husband and three children, hosting family events, and planning vacations.
