Liz Graham, MLIS, is the executive director of the Thurgood Marshall Law Library at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Having worked in academic libraries for over 15 years, Graham has extensive knowledge about providing information services to faculty, students, and staff. She began her career as a student library employee. Since earning her master’s degree in library and information science, she has worked at UCLA, Georgetown (D.C. and Qatar), and the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Graham joined the Thurgood Marshall Law Library in 2019, accepting a leadership position overseeing the teams responsible for the library’s collection and access. She is currently pursuing a JD at Maryland Carey Law. She is a speaker and presenter at regional and national law librarianship conferences, and was recently asked to serve on the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) IDEA Committee, whose ambitious charge included making recommendations to the AALL board about how to most effectively ensure the association’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion was operationalized. This year, she completed her term as immediate past president of the Law Library Association of Maryland.
