4MLK Building Opens as Hub of Innovation and Community

Depicted: “We’ve set the table for Baltimore’s future,” UMB President Bruce Jarrell said at the grand opening of the 4MLK building, which stands as the newest addition to the BioPark.

On Jan. 15, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) celebrated the grand opening of 4MLK, an eight-story, 250,000-square-foot facility in the University of Maryland BioPark at MLK Boulevard and West Baltimore Street.

Developed in partnership with Wexford Science & Technology, the 4MLK building is designed to be a hub for innovation and community engagement, with advanced laboratories, flexible workspaces, and a civic lounge to foster collaboration by researchers, entrepreneurs, and local residents. UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, emphasized the building's role in uniting diverse stakeholders to drive economic development and enhance Baltimore's future.
