The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents has selected Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, to serve as the seventh president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), effective Sept. 11, 2020. Dr. Jarrell has served as UMB's interim president since Jan. 6, 2020. The selection was made following a nationwide search.
