Law School Launches Nation’s First Forensic Defense Clinic

The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law has launched the nation’s first Forensic Defense Clinic, which aims to provide law students with hands-on experience in analyzing forensic evidence, focusing on cases involving wrongful convictions or where forensic science was misapplied. The clinic emphasizes addressing the systemic issues that lead to wrongful convictions and equips students to challenge faulty forensic practices in criminal cases.
