‘MPowering’ Collaboration to Drive Innovation and Discovery

The University of Maryland Strategic Partnership: MPowering the State (MPower) has appointed seven professors from UMB and the University of Maryland, College Park as 2025 MPower Professors. This recognition fosters collaborations among faculty members who are tackling important societal issues, leveraging the strengths of both institutions to drive innovation and discovery. Established in 2012 and formalized by the 2016 University of Maryland Strategic Partnership Act, MPower enhances Maryland’s innovation economy, advances interdisciplinary research, creates student opportunities, and addresses critical challenges for the state and nation.
