• SPAC has updated the Participant Support Cost Policy specific to National Science Foundation and National Institute of Health awards.
• Participant support costs in these awards have a specific budget category for trainees (who are not employees) in connection with conferences, meetings, workshops etc.
• For these specific budget categories on these awards, you must obtain prior sponsor approval.
• If approved, the costs for conferences and training should be set-up in a separate project ID because Facility and Administrative costs (F&A) are not allowable on these costs.

This policy is NOT affiliated with paying a participant for a clinical trial under object code 7062 or 7072, which remain the same.
