Come be part of the solution! SSAC launched in October 2023, working groups were created to look at the Award Cycle, Research Education,Research Communication, and Policy & Procedures. From the larger group, other areas were identified that needed further attention:

• Administrative Costs Group: what is allowable on an award
• Corporate and Clinical Trials Awards Group: award cycle & financial management
• Fellowship and Training Grants Group: award cycle & financial management
• Service Center/Recharge Center Group: review current policy & procedures, update to reflect UMB's service centers 
• Report of Expenditure Group: make the process more efficient & effective by reducing redundancies for departments

The expectation is for each group to review existing and/or develop new guidance to support the UMB research community. The commitment will be about 2.5 hours per month. Please volunteer for a group that interests you.

The link to volunteer closes on October 18. The first round of meetings is anticipated to be in November.
