Social Media

People interacting with each other

The Office of Communications and Public Affairs promotes the University of Maryland, Baltimore to internal and external audiences through social media.

As the world undergoes constant transformation, the methods of marketing must also adapt. Social media has emerged as a potent tool in this changing landscape, but leveraging its full potential requires learning the intricacies and strategies. The Office of Communications and Public Affairs offers invaluable resources and access to experts who can ensure that your presence resonates across all platforms.

The UMB Social Media Committee is jointly operated by the Digital Marketing and Social Media teams within the Office of Communications and Public Affairs. Its primary objective is to foster collaboration among various schools and departments, aiming to establish a cohesive social strategy. This involves facilitating interactive communication regarding social media initiatives, exchanging ideas and strategies to enhance social engagement, and fostering active participation across all schools and departments.

Membership in the Social Media Committee is open to all University staff, providing an opportunity to contribute and actively participate. If you are interested in joining the committee, please reach out to Charles Schelle for further information about how to join.
