The redesigned University of Maryland, Baltimore website is live!
The redesigned University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) website launches with a fresh, modern feel and a more intuitive user experience. The new design is built to make it easier to find information, access resources, and explore everything UMB has to offer — using improved navigation, accessibility, and a layout that works smoothly across all devices.
What’s New
Homepage Layout
The homepage more clearly communicates the University’s mission, values, and offerings. You can still find all the latest news and events here, but there is an additional focus on student accomplishments, faculty experts, and other factors that make UMB unique.
Menu
Links and URLs have not changed, but a streamlined fly-out menu in a contemporary design brings focus to what matters most. The focus of this redesign was to provide a better user experience and more modern look and feel, improve accessibility, and create audience-specific experiences for our users. To access the menu, click the “Menu” link in the top right corner to open up a fly-out panel where you can access the site structure.
Audience-Specific Pages
Information and resources are more clearly organized for different audiences. If you’re not sure where to find the information you need, go to the page for Current Students, Faculty and Staff, Alumni and Donors, or Community Members. These landing pages act as hubs of information tailored to specific needs of these audience groups.
Important Digital Resources
From community news to classwork, many of the tools we use are online. The Resources section of the Menu provides quick access to all of the most-used tools that UMB provides.
Improved Search
An enhanced search tool that is coupled with a few common search terms that quickly link you to some of the most commonly searched-for pages. Each item links directly to the webpage it represents so you can find that information and arrive on those pages as quickly as possible.
A-Z Listing
A new A-to-Z listing of offices, tools, and other initiatives will help connect you to the right place faster. Type in any information that you’re looking for, and the list will filter according to what you write, helping you find webpages faster. This is a curated list that includes all central UMB webpages.
