Ginger Pritchett

September 2020

Registration coordinator at the School of Nursing is known for her compassion, positive energy, and dedication to diversity and inclusion.

Ginger Pritchett, registration coordinator in the University of Maryland School of Nursing’s (UMSON) Office of Student and Academic Services (OSAS), began working at the school in 2015. Immediately, her colleagues could see Pritchett’s compassion for people and her spirit of willingness to help where needed.

Shortly after her arrival, Pritchett co-chaired OSAS’ Easter basket drive for homeless families. She also serves on UMSON’s Governance Council and Diversity and Inclusion Council, participates in the group’s Booked for Lunch Club, and is a skilled facilitator of restorative justice circles. During a recent session, Pritchett brought her calm manner to several heated discussions on race and racism that left the participants with an increased level of understanding differences and welcoming dialogue.

With an infectious laugh and open smile, Pritchett treats everyone who comes to the office as an individual she wants to know better. Time and again, faculty, staff, and students remark about the great experiences they’ve had working with her. Pritchett’s colleagues concur, saying she brings positive energy to the office while advocating for an inclusive work environment.

In addition to her involvement in UMSON’s diversity and inclusion efforts, Pritchett is an active member of the NAACP and volunteer groups in her community.
