International Operations recommends deferring travel to Uganda due to the ongoing outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The outbreak was first declared in late January after a male health care worker succumbed to the disease in Kampala. While Ugandan authorities continue to tightly monitor the situation and isolate close contacts/suspected cases, additional cases are likely. If travel to Uganda is essential, closely adhere to guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control on preventing exposure to EVD.
