The Annals of Global Health has released the first part of UMB's Special Collection on Decolonizing Global Health, featuring articles by participants in the May 2021 UMB Global Health Summit.

In their introduction to the special collection, Virginia Rowthorn, JD, LLM, Assistant Vice President for Global Engagement at UMB and Executive Director of CGE, and Carlos A. Faerron Guzmán, MD, MSc, Associate Professor of Global Health at the UMB Graduate School, wrote:

"We developed this special issue around the theme of decolonization broadly, emphasizing how coloniality and neo-colonial thought are woven through and still affect higher education. Through this issue, we provided an opportunity for authors (faculty, researchers, practitioners, students, and administrators) to express their vision of what a decolonized global health field looks like."
