Rowthorn and Ogbolu Receive Additional RWJF Funding for Global Learning for Health Equity Network

Virginia Rowthorn, JD, LLM (Center for Global Engagement and Graduate School) and Yolanda Ogbolu, PhD, CRNP-Neonatal, FNAP, FAAN (School of Nursing) have been awarded a three-year extension of their Global Learning to Advance Health Equity Network grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

First funded in 2020, the grant is designed to study and promote the identification of promising health equity initiatives from around the world work with communities to bring them to the U.S. In the first phase, Rowthorn and Ogbolu created the GL4HE Network. This follow-up grant will be
used to expand the Network and bring new health equity promoters and community organizations into global learning. The follow-up funding will allow the Network to provide 5-10 organizations with planning grants to stimulate community engagement in global learning as well as prepare these organizations for future funding opportunities to continue the work. In addition, as part of their project, Ogbolu and Rowthorn recently published “Global Learning for Health Equity: A Literature Review” in the Annals of Global Health and spoke at an NIH Fogerty Center “Global Health Reciprocal Innovation Workshop” held October 24-26.
