Award Setup

The Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance (SPAC) department handles award setup. After the Sponsored Program Administration (SPA) accepts and legally authorizes all awards and agreements for sponsored projects, they are routed to the SPAC setup team for processing. 

The setup team typically operates on a first -in, first out basis for setting up new awards and processing modifications in UMB’s financial system. The team aims for a 3- 5-day turnaround time, though delays may occur during peak activity periods. Priority may be given to awards or modifications that require immediate attention to meet deadlines.
