UMB secures funding through various types of sponsored awards. These awards are typically provided by government agencies, state agencies, private foundations and corporations, support research, educational programs and other scholarly activities.

Types of sponsored awards may include but are not limited to this list:

• Research Grants
• Program Grants
• Training grants
• Fellowships
• Contracts
• Cooperative agreements
• Subawards
• Prize awards.

Each type of award comes with its own set of requirements, benefits and challenges.  SPAC’s setup team reviews each agreement to determine the post management i.e.  billing, reporting and financial closeout and then enters these requirements in the financial system.
