New Graduates Speak Out

Bobby Man, School of Dentistry, DDS

Bobby-ManTwenty years from now, what will you remember about your years at UMB?

“It was definitely the worst/best times of my life. Very stressful, but today makes it all worth it honestly.”

On a more serious note, UMB’s mission is to improve the human condition and serve the public good. How do you plan to do that as a new graduate?

“Being a dentist I definitely want to help the community. I’d like to think what I learned in dental school will allow me to help in the future.”

Did you do some outreach community work during your time here?

“Our dental school has services in Perryville, an underserved community in Cecil County. We go there in our rotations for about three weeks in our first year and three weeks in our fourth year. It was a very good experience and taught me many things.”

Do you have a favorite memory from that?

“They used to let us live there in a mansion, believe it or not. The first year that was neat because I was new to the school and I paired up with fourth years and it was good to see how life would be as a fourth-year student.”
