Schools and Programs

The University of Maryland, Baltimore was established in 1807 and is the founding campus of the University System of Maryland. UMB is the state's public academic health and law university and is composed of six professional schools and a Graduate School. The 2021 edition of the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education identifies UMB as a Special Focus Four Year: Research Institution based on degree-granting activity and specialization. Each school has its own admissions process. Prospective students should contact the schools directly.
