UMB MARCH Program Fellowship

The MARCH program provides abortion care training for medical providers and students.

The program aims to increase familiarity with and competence in prescribing medication abortion and also provide exposure to procedural abortion care through a Reproductive Health Fellowship.

The UMB MARCH Program Reproductive Health Fellowship will include:

  • In-depth Curriculum: Gain access to a comprehensive curriculum on abortion and reproductive healthcare, supplemented with Maryland-specific information.

  • Hands-on Simulation: Participate in a two-day, hands-on, in-person simulation, guided by feedback from clinician subject matter experts.

  • CMEs Available: Earn over 30 Category I Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

  • Stipend Available: Receive a $4,000 stipend to compensate for your time and effort while completing the MARCH training curriculum.

  • Post-program Support: Continue to connect with other MARCH Program clinicians and UMB subject matter experts, even after you complete the program.

Ideal Program Candidates:

Current licensed and practicing clinicians in Maryland who are:

  • Physician Assistants

  • Nurse Practitioners

  • Nurse Midwives, Certified Nurse Midwives

  • DMSC students, and

  • Doctors (MD, DO)

Relevant clinical backgrounds:

  • Family medicine
  • Primary Care
  • Internal Medicine
  • Urgent Care
  • Emergency Medicine
  • OB/GYN
  • Pediatrics and Adolescent care
  • Student Health.

Program Tracks

Track 1

Track 1 is for current medical providers only (NPs, PAs, and MDs/DOs). This track includes asynchronous program components with a two-day in-person simulation training (approximately eight hours per day).

 

Track 2

Track 2 is primarily for students* but is also open to current providers. This track includes the same curriculum components as Track 1, plus a two-week full-time clinical rotation.
