Dear UMB Faculty,

I want to remind everyone of the importance of acting quickly upon receipt of any communications regarding sponsored research from a U.S. government sponsor or a pass-through entity, including the state of Maryland.

If you receive a stop work order, termination, suspension notice, or other directive from a sponsor, send it immediately by email to Jill Frankenfield, MSL, MS, associate vice president, Sponsored Programs Administration, and Laura Scarantino, MSF, CPA,assistant vice president, Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance, and copy your department chair and school dean. They will, with guidance from the Office of University Counsel, review the contents, determine its applicability, and provide guidance on how to proceed.
