“We want to make sure we give our students not just a traditional laboratory experience, but also the exposure to taking their science, taking their ideas and knowing how to commercialize them,” University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President Jay A. Perman, MD, told Rich Bendis, president and CEO of BioHealth Innovation, in the group’s latest Bio Talk with Rich Bendis podcast.
Perman described for the audience the newly launched Graduate Research Innovation District (GRID) and explained his goals for the new education and co-working space for students and entrepreneurs.
