Mayor to Address Law School Grads

May 19, 2015    |

Alumna and Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake ’95 will deliver the keynote address May 14 at the 2015 Hooding Ceremony for graduating students of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

Nearly 300 law students will graduate from Maryland Carey Law this spring.  The Hooding Ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 14 at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore. Reporters who wish to cover the event must request tickets in advance; they are required for admission.

Maryland Carey Law Dean Donald Tobin announced the Mayor’s participation.  "We are enormously honored that a leader of the Mayor’s stature will be joining our graduates as they celebrate their own professional and academic achievements on a very special day," Tobin said.

Rawlings-Blake was elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1995, the year she graduated from Maryland Carey Law.
