Industry studies have shown that more parkers are using credit / debit cards to pay for many of their parking needs. PTS obtained new parking equipment in 2023 and are continuing to enhance the customer experience by implementing changes.

UMB has already transitioned the Saratoga and Lexington garages to cashless operations, accepting credit / debit card only. This provided an opportunity to promote contactless transactions, expedited exit, and provide booth attendant safety in the locations as the facilities would no longer accept cash.  The transition in those two garage facilities was a success and we are now looking to transition Penn and Pratt garages.

Statistically, at the Penn and Pratt garages, 95% of transactions are processed using a credit/ debit card with the Visa, MasterCard and Discover logos.  Both facilities will have appropriate exterior signage indicating that the facility is credit/debit card only.  At time of exit, if a parker does not possess a credit/ debit card, parking operations will collect parker’s information for billing purposes.

This transition will be effective April 1, 2024.
