Security officer Melita Brown enjoys helping people feel safe. 

“I became a security officer to better serve my community and be more involved”  she says. She has served University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Police and Public Safety for seven months. 

Since joining the department, Brown says her greatest achievement is being selected for the Officer Spotlight. She encourages others to always do their best and follow through on everything they do. 

In the future, Brown aims to become a medical esthetician. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling.
