Dear Colleagues:

I'm so happy to be able to share with you that the General Assembly approved a cost-of-living increase of 2 percent for all regular faculty and staff employees, effective Jan. 1, 2019. The budget passed by the legislature also contains provisions for an additional 0.5 percent increase starting in April 2019, along with a one-time $500 bonus, but only if the state exceeds current FY 2018 tax revenue projections by at least $75 million.

It's been a few years since state employees have received a cost-of-living adjustment, so I'm grateful to the legislature for making this increase a priority in next year's budget. And, of course, I'm grateful for the work you do throughout the year to advance the mission and the work of UMB.
