Dear Colleagues:

This Thanksgiving, I wish you restorative time with family and friends and abundant reminders of all you have to be grateful for.

I'm grateful for much. I'm grateful that we dedicate ourselves each day to securing the health and happiness of those we serve—that on their behalf we work for equal access and opportunity, for justice and peace. I'm grateful that we hold ourselves accountable to our highest ideals, and acknowledge our failings when we fall short of them. I'm grateful to be among students and colleagues who are utterly unafraid to question the way things are, and to offer a vision of what they could be.

This Thanksgiving, as a small gesture of my appreciation, I'm granting one day of paid Administrative Leave on Monday, Dec. 24. Staff who do not have essential employee responsibilities will be excused from work. Policies governing leave administration are available from your supervisor and from Human Resource Services.
