Thank you for taking the time to visit the Office of the Provost website. I am privileged and grateful to serve as University of Maryland, Baltimore’s provost and executive vice president. In my role, I work with University leadership, including the deans of each of UMB’s schools, on a number of initiatives that seek to advance our mission of improving the human condition and serving the public good.

My priorities as provost — which build on our core values and strategic plan — focus on developing and maintaining rigorous academic programs; ensuring that our faculty have opportunities for growth and development and a clear path to promotion; maintaining UMB as a global leader in the areas of engagement, education, and research; and making sure our students are able to thrive in a community that fosters inclusiveness and belonging.
