Good afternoon!

As of TOMORROW, August 1, a new form will be available in Kuali Build.   

The no-cost extension request form will be labeled UMB NCE Request. This form will be used to request a no-cost extension, including, for example, initiating a request in eCommons for NIH awards. This form incorporates all the information (data and attachments) needed to submit the request to the sponsor. It is intended to reduce emails going back and forth among SPA administrators, unit administrators, and the PI to gather all the “pieces” and track the request. Please check the SPA home page TOMORROW for an instruction document and a direct link to start a new UMB NCE Request.

If you have already started an NCE request on the PDF form, you may submit that during the transition to the new form. However, the PDF form will no longer be available on our website.

If you have an approved no-cost extension (e.g., a proposed agreement modification for signature), please use the UMB Award Modification form in Kuali Build.

THANK YOU to the pilot departments that worked with us over the past eight months or so to clarify the form, develop the workflow, and discuss processes. As of tomorrow, the “pilot” form will be updated into the UMB NCE Request, so any forms you have saved or submitted will still be in the same app.
