Finger Print Requests

Fingerprint Requests

For a fee of $20 per card, we offer fingerprinting services to the University community by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call Det./Cpl. Jim Brown for an appointment at 410-706-3176 (6-3176 on campus)

All LiveScan transmittals will incur an additional fee of $18.00 (MD State) and/or $13.25 (FBI) for background checks. Fees may vary depending on the type of fingerprint request, payable by check or money order only (cash not accepted).

Bring your driver’s license, naturalization card (if you aren’t a U.S. citizen), Social Security card, and a letter stating your reason(s) for being fingerprinted.

Lost and Found

Recovered property may be obtained from the Pine Street Police Annex by appointment only (call 410-706-6882 or 6-6882 on campus). Bring proof of ownership and some form of personal identification. Be prepared to give a verbal or written description of the property. You have one year and 31 days to claim property. Lost property can be brought to the Pine Street Police Annex at any time.

New Employee and Student Orientation

The UMB Police Department attends new employee and student orientations to present information about our jurisdiction and services and to distribute crime prevention brochures with safety tips. We want to help you stay safe and secure.

To report a lost or stolen card, contact the UMB Police Department at 410-706-6882 (6-6882 on campus). If you're experiencing card access problems or you'd like to request new One Card authorization, please use the Building Access System.


Police Report Requests

Police Report Requests

If you think someone has stolen your belongings, a UMB Police Officer will respond to your location to take an appropriate report. If you’ve been involved in an incident, for a fee of $20 you can receive a full police report. Checks can be made payable to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (cash is not accepted).

Rape Aggression Defense

R.A.D. stands for Rape Aggression Defense and is a women's self-defense class. This program is a hands-on course designed to emphasize confidence and self-discipline while developing and enhancing options for self-defense. This course will teach basic self-defense techniques and emphasize common-sense approaches to safety on campus. Classes are taught by certified instructors from URecFit and University Police.


Escort services

Safe Walk/Safe Ride

The UMB Police Department offers the Safe Walk/Safe Ride program to all University students, faculty, and staff. Your ID is required. The walk program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the ride program is available from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Call 410-706-6882 (6-6882 on campus).

Special Events Coverage

The UMB Police Department can provide police and security coverage for special events on a chargeback basis. Request security for your special event.


Victim Witness Assistance

Victim Witness Assistance

In the event of a crime, the UMB Police Department will assist victims and witnesses with court procedures, emergency assistance, medical access, and victim impact statements.
