International Students Organization (ISO)

The International Student Organization (ISO) at the University of Maryland Baltimore is a vibrant campus-wide community dedicated to enriching the academic and cultural experiences of international students. Serving as a bridge between diverse cultures, the ISO champions the needs of international scholars while fostering global awareness across the university. The ISO transforms the campus experience into a global adventure, celebrating diversity and promoting cross-cultural understanding. It serves as a home away from home for international students, while also engaging domestic students in a rich tapestry of global perspectives.

Douglas Gyamfi is a 2nd-year PhD student in the Nursing program at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. He earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. Currently, Douglas also serves as secretary for the Doctoral Student Organization (DSO) at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. As a senator for the International Students Organization (ISO), he hopes to advocate for students and champion an inclusive community for all. When Douglas is not busy studying, he enjoys going on fun trips, playing video games or in-person games, and watching movies.
