Margaret “Peggy” Chamberlain Wilmoth, PhD, MSS, MS ’79, BSN ’75, FAAN, a distinguished alumna of the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She is currently a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing.

Wilmoth shares her inspiring journey as the first U.S. Army nurse to command a medical brigade, her dual career in nursing and military service, and her experiences, challenges, and accomplishments including policy development and research contributions. She also emphasizes the significance of mentorship and inclusiveness in the military, as well as her passion for psychosocial oncology.
