Training

The IT Training & Communications department is a part of the Center for Information Technology Services (CITS).

The training group designs and delivers training — live and/or online — on campuswide business applications; authors instructional materials and user aids; facilitates user groups; provides access to training resources for IT staff and others; and works with CITS enterprise application development teams.

Classes are open only to staff, faculty, and students of the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

Current Classes

The Training Enrollment Database enables you to self-register for live, instructor-led training sessions on various aspects of administrative systems you might need or want to use as part of your job.  Topics that are covered include Office 365 (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, etc), Quantum, Kuali, Webex, etc.  The courses are offered by both the IT Training & Communications department and subject matter experts from various departments and schools across UMB.  Enroll in your desired class directly using the  Training Enrollment Database.

System Narrative/Information
Kuali Research Training for UMB's solution that supports the research community's needs to electronically create and route proposals for sponsored research project awards to external sponsors, and to submit proposals for federal funding to Grants.gov. Collaborate Blackboard Collaborate is a comprehensive online learning platform that combines audio, video, and web conferencing. At UMB, Blackboard Collaborate is used by faculty for delivering online curriculum, by students participating in online courses, and by other members of the campus community for hosting and participating in online web conferencing and meetings.
