To launch the exchange program in 2024, four DUHS medical students will be selected to participate in a two-month observership at UMB. The observership will include rounding with University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty members at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), participation in Grand Round lectures, and participation in lectures and programs at UMB’s other six schools: Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy, Law, Dentistry, and the Graduate School.

Selected students will be registered and provided with compliance training (e.g. HIPAA, safety and hygiene) by the UMMS Volunteer Office and campus welcome and safety training through the UMB Center for Global Engagement.
